Are you a fan of jazz music? Jazz festivals are undoubtedly a great way to see all of your favourite bands at one time. Curators of these festivals set up one, two or three days, of music-filled adventures in remote and unusual venues. Head out to the countryside for a fun weekend of camping, or check out an entire site in the middle of a park. Regardless of where you’re heading for a great music festival, there a few things to always remember, find them here.
Check the schedule early, and map out the acts you’d like to see. A lot of big festivals have multiple stages, so you’ll want to know where you’re headed, and when. Don’t miss your favourite band because you are at the wrong stage. Be aware that mobile service often cuts out in large areas, so you’ll want to save this kind of information in your phone, ahead of time.
Buy an external charger. If you want to use social media, a camera and maps, then you’ll need a fully charged phone. A lot of festivals are in venues that are rural, with no access to outlets. If you’re camping out for a few days, make sure you get a few chargers ahead of you.
Don’t forget to bring along some spare clothes and be ready for any type of weather. Get your rain gear out, and put it in the car, or carry a bag with you that has all of the extra things that you need. Grab a cheap poncho that is really small, and can fit in compact space.
Don’t lose your friends. If someone is going to the bathroom, then everyone should go to the bathroom. Mobile service is often unreliable when there are so many people in the crowd, and if you get separated, it might be hard to meet up again. If you have to split up from your friends, name a time and place to meet up again.
Bring a flashlight. At night, there are few lights available. If you’re headed to the bathroom, looking through your bag or just going for a walk, then you’ll want to have a flashlight on you. Avoid stumbling into puddles and ruining your night by losing your stuff. Get a small and compact flashlight, that you can use in emergencies.
Baby wipes are your best friend when you’re at a music festival. Avoid feeling as gross as the portable toilets, and keep yourself fresh. Showers aren’t usually readily available, and it may even be hard just to find a mirror. You’ll want to have a few things to keep you comfortable, and baby wipes are one of the most versatile tools.
Music festivals bring people together with similar interests to an environment of vacation, relaxation, entertainment and enjoyment. Be prepared, and make the experience one that you’ll remember for a lifetime.
