- Cape Town Jazz Fest, Cape Town
You don’t get jazzier than Cape Town and this festival has been a popular event in South Africa for many years now. This is usually held in March/April and goes on for several days where some amazing jazz musicians perform for locals and tourists alike. There is a free concert at Greenmarket square every year which kicks off the festival which is held inside the Cape Town International Convention Centre.
- XJAZZ, Berlin
The jazz festival season officially starts in May in Europe and that is when Berlin have their XJAZZ event. This festival has only been running since 2014 but there is no doubt that it has been going from strength to strength. It celebrates local talent that might not get the opportunity to perform otherwise. All the different styles of jazz music showcased here are amazing.
- Paris Jazz Festival, Paris
This festival is held almost every weekend throughout June and July in the gorgeous city of Paris. Set in the stunning location of Parc Floral de Paris, the jazz music is outstanding and there are many other types of entertainment that the entire family can enjoy.
- Tokyo Jazz Festival, Tokyo
Every September, fans of jazz gather together in the largest jazz event in Japan. There is both an outdoor and indoor stage allowing you to choose based on your preferences. The event runs over several days and there are always incredible performances to behol. International and local stars unite again this year in what is set to be even bigger than ever.
- Guinness Cork Jazz Festival, Cork
Every Autumn, over 40,000 fans of jazz music head to the Guinness Jazz Festival to watch some of the best performances from some of the worlds top jazz artists and generally soak up the incredible atmosphere that this event has to offer. While there is a main stage, there are performances throughout the streets and pubs/clubs during this time which means anyone can experience the event.
- Vinterjazz, Copenhagen
The jazz community has been rife in Denmark since the early 60’s and this event has been running every year since the summer of 79. Even through the main event is held in July, the jazz celebration starts in winter and over 75 venues in Denmark have jazz musicians performing over 300 concerts. This is not something you want to miss out on.
