As the end of 2018 gets nearer, jazz fans have already started planning their go to events for 2019 and there are no shortage of jazz festivals throughout the UK to book tickets for and add to your diary.
- Cheltenham Jazz Festival, 1st – 6th May
This festival is always hugely popular with amazing musicians putting on stellar performances. The 2018 festival was out of this world and next year is set to be even better. The event is usually held in a tented festival village with a big stage, other forms or entertainment plus food and drink stalls to ensure you get the full experience. Whether you stay all week long, a few days or just a day, this is an event that you will not regret going to.
- Bournemouth Jazz Festival, 22nd – 25th March
Of course, our very own jazz festival needs a place on this list, Bournemouth jazz festival is a weekend long event that is held at The Royal Bath Hotel. This iconic hotel offers amazing views and having the festival indoors is a great move currently of year. Some of the performers have already been announced and they include John Maddocks Jazzmen, Baby Jools & The Jazzaholics and Doc Houlind’s Revival All Stars & Dave Stardwicl’s Sussex Jazz Kings.
- Love Supreme, 5th – 7th July
This jazz festival might only last for 2 days but it’s an incredible jazz event that is one of the most popular in the UK. It’s the UK’s only camping jazz festival, with an amazing atmosphere amongst festival-goers. Although the focus is jazz, Love Supreme embraces other kinds of music too including soul and funk.
- Bristol Intentional Jazz & Blues Festival, 21st – 24th Match
Year after year, this festival hits Bristol and it’s always just as popular as the year before. Most of the festival is at Colston Hall. There are various jazz performers well known around Bristol and sometimes all over the world. There is food, drink and all that good stuff available so you are guaranteed a weekend to remember.
- Upton Jazz Festival, June 2019
There is such a wide range of jazz music set to take to the stage next June and the 4-day event is going to be amazing. It mainly focuses on celebrating old school jazz, swing and blues. If you find yourself in Upton, this festival is worth getting tickets for.
